deletion of about producers

[edit]

Could you give me the info about it? According to the rules, i will create it. I couldn't find the source about it on wikipedia.

typo?

[edit]

Is the following an error?

Line producer - supervises the physical and aspects of the production

Shouldn't it read something like: Line producer - supervises the physical and business aspects of the production

I'm not sure, I just wanted to bring it up for someone who's actually familiar with the topic to deal with. Thanks.

Maybe we should make a list of famous producers instead of putting just some of them on this page? --webkid 13:30, 9 Aug 2003 (UTC)

Good idea. There's already a List of record producers. (But I don't want to start one...) - dcljr 02:50, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)

film producer

[edit]

It would be useful to describe the work performed by a film producer

No point, now that it has its own article at Film producer. - dcljr 02:50, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Types of producers

[edit]

Note that I haven't linked the ones that don't have their own pages, because I'm not sure they should have their own pages. Brief descriptions should probably suffice, right? - dcljr 02:50, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Boy, creating those descriptions was a lot harder that I thought it would be! I got most of the information from the IMDb Movie Terminology Glossary, the FAQ at the Producers Guild of America website, and an interview I found through Google. Be very careful editing these descriptions! The distinctions are very tricky. (I don't claim to have gotten them all correct.) - dcljr 04:29, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)

(moved from my talk page)

I hope you agree with my latest edits to Producer (disambiguation), Television producer and Film producer. The different types of producers really should be on the disambiguation page, don't you think? - dcljr 02:33, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Yes, that's fine - I could see that we needed a disambiguation page, and separate pages for TV & film producers, and hoped that someone would do further work. Thank you. Andy Mabbett 07:45, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)
